Τhe Breast Imaging Center is a modern diagnostic center which meets all the functional specifications of the European Union and specializes in investigation and diagnosis of breast pathology.
Our goal is to provide high quality preventive and diagnostic intervention with an objective to detect breast cancer at early stages, resulting in more effective treatment and prolongation of survival, with a good quality of life.
Breast cancer has grown into a modern trend for women, as one in ten women will become diagnosed during their life. In recent years there has been great progress in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. With breast cancer, there is no primary prevention so early detection is the key (be up to date, self-examination, clinical examination, mammography), which is the foundation of treatment.
Today with the rapid advancement of technology, early diagnosis is possible. Our center is equipped with the latest technology (digital mammography, digital tomosynthesis, high resolution ultrasonography), providing high image quality with the lowest possible radiation dose for the patient. Our center also performs biopsies with a stereotactic machine, as well as under ultrasound guidance (FNA, Core Biopsy).

Our center is equipped with the new HOLOGIC 3Dimensions Tomosynthesis system, features breakthrough improvements in image quality, with high definition 3D Mammography and tomosynthesis quided breast biopsy, the high-definition ultrasound machine HITACHI ARIETTA 850, with capability of elastography and the Automated Breast Ultrasound Invenia TM ABUS 2.0 of General Electric. In our center, we also perform Breast MRI, in cooperation with "Kotziamanis Imaging Center", in a SIEMENS MAGNETOM Avanto 1,5T System. Furthermore, at our center we perform breast biopsies (FNA, Core Biopsy, Vacuum-Assisted Core Biopsy).
